1950s Japanese design exhibition
Shan!
Around town last Wednesday on our art hunting afternoon, we visited our favorite Gallery, Galleria Miquel Alzueta, that is currently exhibiting Japanese furniture and art from the 1950s by these various deigners: Junzo Sakakura, Isamu Kenmochi, Kenzo Tangue, Sori Yanagui, Isamu Noguchi.
We also happened upon 4 new pieces by a local artist Mirco Marchelli that we fell in love with, perfect colour scheme for our Beijing interior project, so we bought one, and met Mirco, who was milling around at the time, which was lovely as we love his work and would have bought all the pieces from the whole exhibition if we could have..
Looking forward to tomorrows art afternoon around with the girls..

Our treasure hunt continues for our current interior project and has brought us to the beautiful studio of a French sculptor. Working mainly with bamboo to create beautiful pieces that play with resistance and tension, the equilibrium and sensuality of the bamboo.

On a recent trip up the coast on the hunt for some beautiful objects for our interior project we made an appointment to visit Palau Casa Vells. This restored Palau showcases original pieces from Jean Prouve, antiques and modern art. An inspiration!

We are just back from a busy few days in Madrid where we will be setting up our interior tours very soon. We were so inspired by all the wonderful interior shops in the city and found some beautiful pieces for our current interior decoration project. We popped to the Antiques and Art Fair on Sunday where we made a few more purchases, including a beautiful shelving unit from the 1950′s! We also found a lovely 70′s print from the artist and sculptor Amadeo Gabino, and are now on the hunt for more!

As we are always looking out for inspiring spaces a friend sent me these pictures of American painter Cy Twomblys apartment in Rome , taken in 1966 for Vogue by photographer P.Horst. An incredible space with simple tiles floors, classic sculptures scattered around the rooms, traditional furniture and his own artworks, love it!
