Our treasure hunt continues for our current interior project and has brought us to the beautiful studio of a French sculptor. Working mainly with bamboo to create beautiful pieces that play with resistance and tension, the equilibrium and sensuality of the bamboo.

We are just back from a busy few days in Madrid where we will be setting up our interior tours very soon. We were so inspired by all the wonderful interior shops in the city and found some beautiful pieces for our current interior decoration project. We popped to the Antiques and Art Fair on Sunday where we made a few more purchases, including a beautiful shelving unit from the 1950′s! We also found a lovely 70′s print from the artist and sculptor Amadeo Gabino, and are now on the hunt for more!

As we are always looking out for inspiring spaces a friend sent me these pictures of American painter Cy Twomblys apartment in Rome , taken in 1966 for Vogue by photographer P.Horst. An incredible space with simple tiles floors, classic sculptures scattered around the rooms, traditional furniture and his own artworks, love it!

Florence is one of our favourite places in Italy, I was fortunate enough to work there 10 years ago, in a beautiful design studio overlooking the Arno. I bought a bike and spent my weekends exploring the little cobbled streets each side of the river. I found the city was brimming with artisans and ateliers, from shoe makers, jewellery designers, leather workshops, perfumeries, little vintage stores, antiques and cosy enotecas for aperitivo in the evening. On Sundays I trawled the flea markets from Santo Spirito to Piazza Chompi finding treasures for my home. Naturally Florence felt like one of the next places to set up our bespoke city tours. In more recent visits Niki and I found specialist interior stores, private antique showrooms in old palazzos and local designer studios, we were more than in love. Combining all this with the insider knowledge of my friend Indigo, a local of more than 10 years and freelance designer we felt ready to launch our bespoke tours in Florence..

Love this collection of design objects by imperfettolab, inspired by the imperfections of the raw materials,
“Each piece is made from a common mould, which is then sanded, painted and hand-polished. The working process differs for each type of object, thus becoming unique in its genre. Thanks to such a personalized approach to items, they acquire identity and uniqueness, as well as showing exceptional attention to details that derives from an expert and skillful craftsmanship. “
